The story of
Tales in Tiles
About us
Tales in Tiles
Let us introduce you to our Tales in Tiles Experience Store.
In our mind, it is all about getting together and connect while “messing” with Art.
In the bright and welcoming environment we have created, we will treat you some herbal tea and cookies, while you are participating in one of our clay workshops to make your very own piece of art.
Or you can enjoy the exhibition of a Greek artist that we host at the time.
You can make your own choice among a selection of Greek, mainly, Art creations to take at home for you or as a present for a friend: a ceramic piece – we currently represent 6 Greek ceramists, beautiful jewelry inspired by Ancient Greece, a silk scarf with a design of a Greek artist printed on it and many more.
For an enhanced experience, come and join us, whenever you can. It will be our pleasure to have you!
Stavroula & Evi

Stavroula
A few year ago, Stavroula left finance to seek a life in the Arts.
And that’s when she founded Tales in Tiles!
Stavroula doesn’t make art of her own – she keeps saying how lousy she is at making anything with her hands, but whenever she sits down to do something, her piece will be the first one to sell in the store.
She spends a lot of her time discovering artists to represent at the store – simply by selling their pieces or having them participating in an exhibition she will curate herself or with the help of others. She loves that last part.
When she is not at the store, you will find her at home with her husband, two kids and Rita, their dog, or playing beach volley with some 20 years younger than her.

Dilek
Dilek is our in-house ceramist and ceramist of our heart, here at Tales in Tiles Experience Store.
She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Anadolu University, specializing in Ceramics, in 1998. She moved to Athens almost 10 years ago, where has since been pursuing her creative work in ceramics.
Dilek is the one instructing our clay workshops. She will patiently show you all the techniques you need to complete the piece you have chosen to make. Just follow her steps. Although, she masters hand-building, her true love is wheel throwing, and this is how she makes all the Tales in Tiles ceramics you will find in our store.
When not messing with clay in our store, you will find her taking Mila, the cutest giant dog you’ve ever seen, a walk in Koukaki, or watching something on TV that has to do with Art – either a lecture on Michealangelo or, her new discovery, the equivalent of Master Chef in ceramics.

Katerina
You will find Katerina in our store, every Thursday and Friday evening, as well as on Saturdays.
Although she is working on a part-time basis with us, she is an integral part of our team. Katerina is the kind of person who will tell you stories about the things in our store and the one making sure we always have cookies to treat you. She is the person behind our newsletter too, and when you will not find her in the reception desk, she is probably in the kitchen, testing whether the cookies she got are good ones, or just having her 3rd snack of the day! (Yet, she is the only one not worrying about her weight for the summer!).
When not working, she is most probably out visiting a new museum, attending a performance or trying a new restaurant in town.
